Gas Conditioning Plant

Supply of a modular built Gas Conditioning Plant. The plant consists of various skid mounted units which have all been fabricated, tested and trial fitted in FB Group workshops. Skids were packed into containers for shipment to its final destination in Middle East. This gas plant will be used to feed gas turbines for Power (electricity) generation.

Why a modular, skid mounted build

Building the plant as a set of individual skids allowed FB Group to fabricate, test and trial fit each unit under controlled workshop conditions before anything left the yard. Trial fitting the skids together in-house makes it possible to check alignment, piping tie-ins and interfaces between units ahead of shipment, so any adjustments are made in the workshop rather than discovered on site. This significantly reduces the amount of field work needed once the skids arrive at their destination, which is especially valuable for a project shipped over a long distance to the Middle East.

From workshop to container to site

Once fabrication and testing were complete, the skids were packed into containers for transport, a practical solution for moving a modular plant across long shipping routes while protecting the equipment from damage and the elements along the way. Containerised shipment also simplifies logistics planning, since each skid can be tracked, handled and unloaded as a standard unit rather than requiring specialised out of gauge transport arrangements.

Conditioning gas for reliable power generation

The conditioned gas produced by this plant is used to feed gas turbines for electricity generation, which places strict requirements on gas quality, pressure and consistency. Gas turbines are sensitive to contaminants and fluctuations in fuel gas specification, so the conditioning plant plays a critical role upstream of the turbines, treating the incoming gas stream so it consistently meets the specification the turbines need to operate efficiently and reliably for continuous power generation.
